According to the news cover by Indian Express, a new committee has been set up for the global expansion of the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) as a brand name of “Indian International Institute of Technology”.
As per the report, the IIT Delhi suggested 7 new international places for the campuses to set up in Gulf countries i.e ( UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & Egypt), Malaysia, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

The Indian Institutes of Technologies are the autonomous institutions owned by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. The first IIT was established at Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) in 1951 and later IIT Bombay in 1958.
