National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2023 Application Date Out.
NEST 2023: National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) official notification for the application date is out. Students can fill out the form on 27th February 2023. The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) conducts the NEST 2023 exam on a national-level entrance exam by Bhubaneswar and UMDAE-CEBS Mumbai.
The Candidates admitted to the program are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs.60,000 through the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. In addition, the scholarship recipients receive a grant of Rs.20,000 per annum for the summer internship.
Candidates selected by DST for the INSPIRE-SHE program are endorsed for INSPIRE scholarship by NISER and CEBS.

NEST 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Candidates should have passed 12th Intermediate or its equivalent examination from any recognized board in the year 2021 or 2022.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after 1st August 2003 and can apply for NEST. However, 5 years of relaxation is given to ST/ SC/ PWD candidates.
- Marks Criteria: The minimum marks obtained in the examination must be 60% (55% for those belonging to SC/ST/ PWD categories).
- Subject: The candidates are required to have passed the above examination with the Science stream consisting of subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics as a mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination.
- Appearing: Those candidates who are appearing 12th class in 2023 can also apply for the exam.

NEST 2023 Exam Pattern
- Mode of Examination: The mode of exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) online exam.
- Questions Type: The question paper will have Multiple -Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Time Duration: The duration of the examination will be 4 hours for completing the exam.
- Total Marks: The question paper will be overall 200 marks.
- Sections: There are 4 different sections in the question paper which include subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology. Each subject contains 17 questions of which 12 questions will be single correct answer MCQs & 5 questions will be multiple correct answer MCQs.
- Marking Scheme: In single correct answer MCQs candidates will earn 2.5 marks & for multiple correct answer MCQs 4 marks will be awarded.
- Negative Marking: No marks will be deducted for multiple correct answer MCQs & 1 mark will be deducted for single correct answer MCQs.
